White Chocolate Nutty Ritz

Simple white chocolate cookies topped with chopped walnuts and almonds.  I was working on a project for this weekend when I found myself with a whole mess of leftover melted white chocolate.

Hmm, what to do?

Make cookies!

meltable white chocolate bars (any brand)
Ritz Crackers
chopped nuts (I used walnuts and almonds)
small crockpot or small sauce pan
wax paper

Heat up your chocolate until melted and you can stir with a spoon and it is smooth.

Now here comes the tricky part...

1. Dip a single Ritz cracker in your melted white chocolate.

2. Lay on wax paper.

3. Top with nuts.

Just wait for these little goodies to harden and there ready to eat!

Via adelynSTONE: Mud Scrub: DIY

Here's the diy I tackled today, a coffee ground mud scrub! If only I could send the smell of this incredibly easy recipe through your monitor you'd be in heaven like me. I used brown sugar instead of white sugar (as you can see in my photo). This scrub is said to tighten the skin and help with the fading of certain scars, try it for yourself, I know I'm ready!

P.S. It really does look like mud huh?

I went on a cache adventure the other day with a friend and here are some photos of squirrel friends I took, I think people feed these fat guys because one squirrel even ran right up to me. We were at Landa Park in New Baunfels, Texas.

It's a pretty fun hobby...

Ok everyone, I have been keeping a hobby of mine from you for a while now. I even started a seperate blog for it but at the moment that blog is under the weather and I'm not really sure I'm ready to rescue it quite yet... I hope to bring it back to life one day, but I just don't have the patience right now. I like to go on these little treasure hunts you see, it's great fun for the kids and I love it very dearly. Gets us closer to nature and out doing fun stuff, what else can you ask for in a hobby!??? I like to photograph EVERYTHING! So I will go ahead and post the photos here for you all to enjoy. To find out more about Geocaching go to

Grab a walking stick, some sun block, tons of water and get outdoors soon! Maybe find some Caches!

First easy peasy!

No swag, just the log...

Didn't get this find digitally, so here's a pretty sweet video. :)

Great find, super easy, but super busy!

Pretty tricky guys...  ;)
Last one for the evening, batteries ran low...

Great evening of caching had by all. I have a new idea for my cache photos in the future, I can't wait to show off. I kind of think the way I have been taking my photos is sort of ho-hum...

Cheers and have a great rest of the day/night to you all.

Once again, get outdoors and do something awesome!!!

Vintage Photos from my Instagram

Yay! I'm on Instagram follow me @vcarvajal if you get around to it.

Here are some photos of vintage-y stuff from the last couple of weeks. Enjoy!

It is easily overlooked that what is now called vintage was once brand new.

Everything I buy is vintage and smells funny. Maybe that's why I don't have a boyfriend.

I love to find a great vintage secondhand shop.

Fortunately I own a vintage brain...

"All our wisdom is stored in the Trees."

I took this picture yesterday of my son at the park in Blanco, Texas. I feel this quote has very different meanings, and I thought about it put in context to a parent. I feel it rings very true.

I looked at my kids and once I became a parent, all I knew from that moment on is my children (your wisdom). Your kids spend time playing in and around nature (the trees). Whether your kids actually play in the trees or not is not the point, I KNOW that all children from one time to another daydream about being in and around the trees and maybe even daydream about being a bird, butterfly, ant. Hey, I think even as an adult I daydream about these things myself... How about you?

What other ways do you think that our wisdom is stored in the trees? I would like to hear other interpretations of the meaning of this quote.

xoxo, Val
